To provide our patients with simple, relatively painless, and quick testing to help pinpoint your inhalant, food and skin allergies. If warranted, we can provide an effective immunotherapy plan and allergy avoidance techniques to enhance your quality of life.

Allergies are caused by a sensitivity and exposure to numerous substances found in foods and our environment. For many people allergies can be just as debilitating an illness as colds and flu. Dr. Franklyn R. Gergits is Board Certified in Otolaryngic Allergy. Here at Northeast Ear, Nose, and Throat Assoc., Inc. our testing and treatment methods have been shown to not only identify specific allergens such as; Food, Pollens, Molds, Animals, and some Skin Irritants, but also to achieve effective control of allergies quickly. We use the latest testing techniques including the Comfort Ten Testing System.

What is an Allergy 

An allergy is an abnormal reaction of the body to one or more substances that are harmless to most people.  Allergy symptoms appear when the body’s immune system begins to respond to a substance as though it were a dangerous invader (called an antigen or allergen). The battle between allergen and antibody results in a release of the chemical mediators, such as histamine, into the bloodstream. Those chemical mediators cause changes in the body, which produce the symptoms that we feel.
