Allergy Testing Patient Instructions

Several days prior to your allergy testing appointment, you will need to print a copy of our "Preparation for Allergy Skin Testing Instructions" located in the "Printable Forms" section of our website. These instructions detail several medications you must avoid prior to allergy testing.

IF YOU ARE TAKING HEART MEDICATIONS OR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATIONS SUCH AS BETA-BLOCKERS, YOU MUST CONTACT THE PHYSICIAN WHO PRESCRIBED IT BEFORE YOU STOP TAKING IT. If this is not an option, you must reschedule or cancel testing. See our "Beta-Blocker" letter located in the "Printable Forms" area of our website.

If you are taking vitamins, regular Tylenol, insulin, birth control, or thyroid medications, you may continue to do so.

IF YOU ARE ON AN ANTIBIOTIC FOR A SINUS INFECTION OR RELATED ILLNESS, YOU CAN NOT BE TESTED UNTIL THE INFECTION HAS CLEARED UP.

If you do not feel well or have recently been ill, please contact our allergy department to determine if you can be tested.
If you are a patient under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present at the time of testing.
Please wear a short-sleeved or sleeveless shirt for testing.
Please leave your small children with a babysitter or bring someone with you to care for them. The testing procedure is extensive and you will not be able to pick them up or care for them while your testing is in progress.
Fill out the appropriate allergic history questionnaire form and consent (found in the "Printable Forms" area of our website) for your scheduled test and bring it with you to your testing appointment.
It is the patient's responsibility to verify their insurance coverage for allergy testing and treatment. Please refer to the "Insurance Coverage Codes and Questions to Ask" info page on our website.

Patient Comments

M.S. recently wrote following her sinus surgery: "I feel like a 'New Person'...
healthier, more energetic, and like I can conquer anything I put my mind to.
I would recommend this surgery to everyone!"
